Training is designed to prepare students to meet challenges and opportunities presented by today’s evolving offices. Students complete projects that require critical thinking, teamwork, interpersonal and leadership skills while applying appropriate procedures to manage the administrative and clinical duties of a medical office. Externship required for clinic & administration
Upon successful completion of course, graduate may apply to take the Registered Medical Assistant exam with American Medical Technologist (AMT).
Jobs in this field require manual dexterity, visual acuity; ability to put patient at ease, explain physician instructions, and respect confidentiality, willing to take direction; dealing with the public: neat, well-groomed, courteous, and pleasant manner.
Requirements:
- Copy of High School diploma or GED
- Copy of picture ID and social security card
- Copy of IN State criminal history check
- Tuberculin skin test (2 required)
- Physical exam (available from our nurse practitioner for $45, cash)
- Score of 70% or better on course pre-test
